Martha (Henderson) Gallella

Martha V. (Henderson) Gallella of Reading passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peabody. She was 87 years of age.

Born on November 27, 1929 in Savannah, Georgia, Martha was the loving daughter of the late Conrad Henderson and Maudie (Langston) Henderson. Martha was a warm and caring daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Martha was a loyal and dedicated homemaker. Her family was first and foremost in her life. A devout Catholic, Martha was a member of St. Agnes Church in Reading for many years, where she also taught Religious Education.

Martha was the beloved wife of the late Francis V. Gallella. She was the devoted mother of James F. Gallella and his wife Lori, Caroline Fitzgerald and her husband Daniel and the late Sandra Doyon. The cherished grandmother of 10, Martha was the loving great grandmother of 12. She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Martha's Eternal Life will be held on Friday, March 3rd in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family prior to the Service, beginning at 9am. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
