Martin Cooke

Martin Cooke of Stoneham passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023.  He is 83 years of age.

Born on Friday, October 6, 1939 in County Galway, Ireland, Martin is the loving son of the late John Cooke and Mary (Connolly) Cooke.  Martin is a warm, kind and gentle son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Martin emigrated to the United States from Ireland in 1964.  He worked for 50 years as a construction laborer for Local Union # 223.  Some of his favorite things to do were going to the Square One Mall in Saugus with his friend Mike Cloherty for coffee and having coffee with Joyce Ann on her deck.  He cherished the time spent with his grandson Daniel and he was always there for him.  He loved picking him up from school & daycare.

Martin is the beloved father of Martin Cooke and his wife Michelle, Joyce Ann Cooke and the late Theresa Sherman and her late husband Christopher.  The cherished grandfather of Kyle, Dylan, Dayton, Kara & Cade Cooke, Kayla & Roy Sherman & Daniel O’Connor, Martin is the dear brother of Sean, Michael, Patrick, Joseph, Coleman, Peter, Mary, Peggy, Bridget, Ellen, Nancy, Noreen and the late Thomas.  He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Martin’s Family on Saturday, July 8^th from 8:30 – 9:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Martin’s Eternal Life will be held on Saturday, July 8^th at 10am in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham.  Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
