Mary F. "Florence" (Lorgeree) Carter, lifelong resident of Reading passed away on Monday, November 6, 2006 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 87 years of age.





Born in Reading, Florence was the loving daughter of the late George Logeree and Mary E. (Doucette) Lorgeree. Florence was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be sadly missed.





Florence was dedicated homemaker. She loved her family. They were first and foremost in her life.





Florence was the beloved wife of the late Russell Carter. She was the devoted mother of Edward Carter and his wife Phyllis of Worcester, John Carter and his wife Debbie of California, Ellen Redfern and her husband Lenny of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Edgar Carter and his wife Ann of North Reading. Florence was the cherished grandmother of 11. She was also survived by several loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Florence was the dear sister of Mildred Melendy of Reading, Rita Cole of Salem, New Hampshire and the late Gertrude Gordon.





A Funeral Service celebrating Florence's life will be held on Friday at 12pm in the Chapel of the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours prior to the Service from 10am-12pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.





In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Florence to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St. Reading, MA 01867.
