Obituary

DiMatteo, Mary (McQueston), "Auntie Mary", age 94 of Reading and Somerville died peacefully at her home on July 4, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late George DiMatteo. She was the devoted daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Hake) McQueston. She is survived by her cherished sister and best friend Elizabeth "Betty" DiMario of Somerville. Loving sister of the late William McQueston and his late wife Rita, the late Alexander McQueston and his late wife Georgia and sister-in-law of the late Francis J. DiMario, Sr. Devoted and loving Auntie to her "girls", Cecilia E. Phelan and her husband Robert of Wakefield, Mary Ann McQueston of Reading, Donna McQueston Callahan and her husband William of Reading. and her nephews Francis J. DiMario, Jr. and his wife Sandra of CT, Thomas DiMario of Somerville, William DiMario of Bolton, Paul DIMario and his wife Cindy of NH, Richard DiMario of Somerville and William McQueston and his wife Elaine of Taunton. Mary leaves her grand nephews and nieces including Daniel Callahan and his wife Jessica Chambers Callahan, Brian Callahan, Trevor and Tyler DiMario, Sara and Jessica DiMario, Benjamin, Matthew and Anna DiMario and Kristen and Kerri McQueston.  She is also survived by many cousins, friends and relatives. Mary was a retired supervisor at Hewlett Packard in Waltham,  enjoyed an active social life including travel, senior events, bowling, ceramics and bingo. She was an avid Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots fan and she enjoyed hosting many family gatherings in her Reading home. Mary will be missed, but her zest for life will long be remembered by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28) NORTH READING, at Reading line, on Friday, July 10th at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday 4-8pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
