Mary M. (Fargnoli), Gigante, of Stoneham, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2002 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center, Stoneham. She was 95 years of age.
Born in San Appolinare, Italy, Mrs. Gigante came to the United States in 1912. At the age of twenty-seven she married her husband Michael and moved to Stoneham in 1936. She was employed as a mill girl working at the Woolen Mills in South Barre, Massachusetts and during the 1930's worked in the Lowell Mills in Lowell.
Mary was the oldest living member of the Itralian Women's Society in Stoneham.
Her family was first and foremost in her life and she loved being with people. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Michael A. Gigante. She was the loving mother of Mary Lou Bracciotti and her husband John of Stoneham, Michael A. Gigante and his wife Marguerite of Wellesley, loving grandmother of Peter Bracciotti of Stoneham, Christine Pier of Sudbury, Michael Gigante III of Wellesley, Suzanne Gigante of Wellesley and two loving great grand-children. Dear sister of the late Eugene, Joseph and John Fargnoli and Angelina Celona.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (Rte. 28) STONEHAM on Wednesday 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central Street, Stoneham on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham MA.
