Mary E. (Tobin) Hardy of Somerville, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at home. She was 98 years of age.
Born in Malden, Mary was the loving daughter of the late Patrick Tobin and Catherine (Sullivan) Tobin.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all.
She was the beloved wife of the late Francis A. Hardy. Mary was the devoted mother of Kathleen Tower and her husband Harry of Stoneham, Francis Hardy and his wife Yvonne of NH, John Hardy and his wife Elizabeth of Saugus, Evelyn Mottola and her husband Robert of E. Boston, the late Paul Hardy and Mary Elizabeth Hardy. Mother in law of Josephine Hardy of Salem. Adored and loved by 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM on Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Mary's life in St. Ann's Church, 399 Medford St. Somerville at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, please honor Mary by making donations in memory of her to Autism Speaks, 5455 Wilshire Rd. Ste. 2250 Los Angeles, CA 90036-4272.
