Mary Jayne Algiers (Lavigne), born November 18, 1956, in Malden, MA passed away on March 27, 2024, in Boston, MA. after a long battle with cancer.
As an interior design professional, Mary was a creative person who loved things that gave life extra glamour and sparkle. Mary was a huge dog lover and enjoyed her many fur companions over the years. She was a people person but valued her solitude. She was a lifelong thrifter, expert shopper, crafter, and decorator. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and baking. Mary attended the Rhode Island School of Design and Newbury College, to study interior design.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Algiers of Los Angeles, CA, and partner, Robert Abisi, and her son, David Algiers of Santa Fe, New Mexico, shared with their father, David John Algiers, of Salem, NH.
Additionally, she is survived by her brother Marshall Lavigne and wife Christine of Melrose, MA, her sister Patricia Hagman of Melrose, MA., her sister Diana Rohini LaVigne and husband Vikramaditya of San Francisco, CA, her sister, Debra Hogan, and husband Andrew of Leicester, VT, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Mae Lavigne (Meuse), her father, Gerald William Lavigne, formerly of North Reading, MA, and her brother, John William Lavigne, formerly of Woburn, MA.
A private memorial to honor Mary's life will be held this summer in the New England area.
