Mary E. (Toomey) Malzone, of Stoneham, passed away on Saturday July 11th, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years of age.
Mary was full of life and cherished every moment life had to give. She was one of the first traffic directors in Stoneham and later worked and retired from Metcalf and Eddy, now AECom, at age 83, as their receptionist. She greeted visitors and clients and always made everyone feel special. Her greatest joy was her family. From vacationing with her grandchildren to the many family gatherings she was always there for her loved ones. Her parents were immigrants from Ireland and she learned early on that hard work and perseverance were key to success. Through good times and bad she always had a smile on her face and never complained. She always had kind words for people and was an inspiration to all she met.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Raymond Malzone. She is the cherished mother of Michael Malzone and his wife Amy, Julieann Malzone, Raymond Malzone and his wife Sandra and the late Maryellen Malzone. Loving grandmother of Jesse Leigh Malzone - Curran and her husband John, Emily Malzone, Raymond Malzone and Jeffrey Taylor. Dear sister of the late Jeremiah Toomey and his late wife Margaret, John Toomey and his late wife Ruth, Catherine Fitzsimmons and her surviving husband Robert. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
