Mary Modesta (Morbo) Zammuto, of Winchester, formerly of Stoneham and Malden, at age 91. Mary was born in Malden, the second of five children to the late Julia V. (Ciotti) and Joseph Morbo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of almost 69 years, Frank Zammuto, Sr. Mary will be missed by children Marianne J. Zammuto and Frank Zammuto, Jr.; brother Robert R. Morbo (late Patricia A. Burns); several generations of nieces and nephews; and family friends. She also was the sister of the late Joseph A. (Dolores P. Santanelli), Eugene G., and Rita A. Morbo.
Mary was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends; baking, cooking, and sharing the delicious foods that she prepared; painting and drawing; sewing; knitting; crocheting; fine needlework; handmade quilting; calligraphy; listening to music; reading; and doing word find and jigsaw puzzles. A Certified Wilton Method instructor, she taught for Wilton and for the Stoneham Public Schools Adult Education Program. For several years, Mary was the 24/7 caretaker of her late husband and her late mother, and she assisted in the care of her late sister.
A Funeral Mass for Mary will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on August 3, 2021, at Sacred Hearts Church, 315 Main St., Malden, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a charity of one's choice.
