Matthew Carroll of Stoneham passed away suddenly in his home, on Friday, November 21st 2014. He was 37 years old.
Matt was a long time resident of Stoneham. He attended Stoneham High School and an Automotive Trade School in Chelsea, MA.
Matt is the much loved son of Charles and Judie Carroll. He is the dear brother of Diane Barry, Donna Carroll, Charles Carroll Jr., and the late Allan and KeriJean. He was survived by his only son Seth Carroll and Seth's mother Shannon Carroll. He is the kind hearted uncle to six nieces & nephews, Robert Harrington, Jessica Harrington, Michael Barry, John Carroll, Meghan Carroll, and Anne Carroll, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matt was a warm and fun loving person. He loved gaming, fishing, and the outdoors. He especially loved his long family vacations in the lakes region of New Hampshire with his family and his many cousins. He had a passion for cars, and would spend hours repairing, talking about and tinkering with all types of vehicles. He repaired countless number of cars for his family and friends, and never once asked for anything in return. He had a very generous nature that matched his equally big smile. Although Matt was physically very tall, you never felt small around him.
Matt was the devoted father to his son, Seth Carroll. They enjoyed watching movies, racing go-carts, and playing in the family pool.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday, December 1, 2014 at 9am followed by Funeral Mass celebrating Matthew's Eternal Life in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10:00am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2-6pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
