Michael A. Baltier

Michael A. Baltier of Reading passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 90 years of age.



Born in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, Michael was the son of the late Michael Baltier and Catherine (Perry) Baltier.



Michael was the beloved husband of Patricia B. (Murphy) Baltier with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Michael of Fitchburg, Matthew and his wife Michelle of Reading, Terese of Wakefield and Mark and his wife Kim of Chelmsford. Michael was the adoring grandfather of Kurt, Kendra, Anthony and Richard.



During WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War, Michael proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army. He was a decorated Veteran.



Michael was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1031. He served on the Reading Scholarship Board for 25 years. He was a member of the Reading Mens Bowling League. He also coached Reading Little League for 20 years. He served as the Director of Religious Education at St. Athanasius in Reading.



Funeral from the Joseph Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Michael's life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Thursday from 4-8pm. Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Lot on Linden St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
