Michael D. Manley of Reading passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 Winchester Hospital. He was 61 years of age.
Born in Malden, Michael was the loving son of the late Grace (Ross) and Raymond Manley. Michael was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
During Vietnam War, Michael proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Air Force. Michael was a US Postal Police Officer 1971 - 2005 and MassPort Police Officer 2005 - 2010. Michael loved camping, boating and his motorcycle.
Michael was the beloved husband of Celeste D. (Bradley) Manley. He was the devoted father of Stacey Manley and Kelley Manley both of Reading. Michael was the cherished grandfather and "best pal" of Kylie Manley. He was the dear brother of Bob Manley of CT, Gerry Manley of MT, Greg Manley of Everett, Jay Manley of Malden, Gary Manley of VA. Loving son of the late Raymond Manley and Grace (Ross) Manley. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service celebrating Michael's life will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the Chapel of the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will take place following the Service at Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
