Michael V. Pinelli

d. March 12, 2021

Michael V. Pinelli passed away on March 12, 2021 at the age of 91, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a period of declining health. He was born on December 29, 1929 in the North End of Boston to the late Sabino and Grace (Lanza) Pinelli. Mike graduated from Boston College High School, Boston College and the Boston University School of Law. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. Mike was a member of the Massachusetts Bar for 64 years, practicing initially in Boston before moving his practice to Stoneham in 1965. Although his practice included many different facets of the law, he very much enjoyed criminal work and was happiest in the courtroom rather than in the office. When his practice allowed, Mike could be found on the golf course and especially in the woods of New England during the hunting season. He was a past President of the Bear Hill Golf Club and the Massachusetts Deer Hunter's Association. Mike was the past Vice President of the Salem Country Club, a member of the Justinian Law Society and a Past Grand Knight of the Stoneham Council Knights of Columbus.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife Joan Pinelli. He is the proud father of four children and two stepchildren: daughter Janice Jones and her husband Tom, son Michael and his wife Melissa, daughter Karen Chipman and her husband Dave, stepson Joseph DeSciscio and stepdaughter Regina Capobianco and her husband Christopher. Mike was devastated when he was predeceased by his beloved daughter Elaine Tofuri and he is survived by her husband Chuck. Mike is the loving grandfather of Michael Jones and his wife Rebecca, Christopher Jones and his wife Kristen, Anthony Tofuri and his wife Kristy, Andrea Evans and her husband Grant, Courtney Pinelli, Nicholas Pinelli and his fiancé Taylor, Alexandra Baker and her husband Christopher, Kurt Chipman and his wife Melissa, Sarah Chipman and Vincenzo and Isabella DeSciscio. He has a special love for his great grandchildren, Lillian and Stella Jones, Evan and Landon Jones, Holly and Theo Tofuri. Mike was thrilled to recently be introduced to his seventh great grandchild by Andrea and Grant via sonogram.

Mike is also survived by his sisters Mildred Campo and her husband Joseph and Evelyn Anderson. He was predeceased by his loving sister Grace Piccolo and her husband Frank. He is also survived by close friends Tom Zazzara, Barbara Sterner and Mario Patalano.
