Michael S. Seymour

Michael S. Seymour, 77, died on December 7, 2022 with loving family by his side. Michael was born on July 10, 1945 in Padiham, United Kingdom, the son of George J. and Constance M. (Maguire) Seymour.

Upon graduating from Notre Dame high school, Michael attended Saint John's University in Minnesota, studying Pre-Med and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He then went on to earn an MBA from Boston College.  

Following graduation, Michael worked at Harvard University as a Program Administrator and then  worked in Sales for Record Shack in Manhattan. The majority of Michael's career was spent as a Vice President of Marketing at the American Association of Advertising in Manhattan NY, where he retired in 2005. Michael then moved from Manhattan to Providence, Rhode Island and then back to Boston.

Michael's passion was traveling around the world.  He traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and the United States. Michael spent two years traveling on foot in Southeast Asia and his greatest joy was meeting the locals, learning their social culture, and seeing the beauty of the region through their eyes. 

Michael had a deep interest in social culture, politics, art and art history, and thrived in Manhattan with the abundance of Museums and Art Galleries located there.

Michael was predeceased by his parents and his brother David Seymour. Surviving Michael are his siblings, Ann (Seymour) Vancelette and her husband Don, his brother Terrence A. Seymour and his wife Joan, his sister Sheila M. (Seymour) Whittle and her husband Robert and his sister Mary T. (Seymour) Briand and husband William.

Michael leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends from across the country and abroad.

Michael's family and friends will miss his sense of humor and quick wit, hearing about his world travel experiences and escapades, his depth of knowledge of food, fashion, art, marketing, economics, and politics. 

Visitation hours will be from 4-7pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street, Stoneham Massachusetts.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.
