Michael A. Sheehan, 72, of Reading, Mass passed away on June 2nd, 2026. He was born on August 30, 1953 at Winchester Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Alban and Mary Sheehan, and his beloved wife and daughter, Betty and Jennifer, and his adored little dog Penny. He is survived by his son Matthew and his siblings, Pamela Willis and her late husband Michael, Brian Sheehan and his wife Lynne, Tim Sheehan and his wife Laurie, Theresa Starkey and her husband Steve, Patrick Sheehan and his wife Carolyn, Kate Seagraves and her late husband John and Eileen Nicholas and her husband Mark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and two great nieces.
Michael graduated from Reading High School in 1971 and decided to see the country, making stops in Idaho where he watched Evel Knievel in his failed attempt to make the jump over the Snake River Canyon, Washington State, California, New Mexico and Texas. It was in Texas that he met his wife of 46 years, Betty. They were very devoted to each other and spent most of their married life in Houston, Texas.
Michael spent much of his career in construction followed by a fifteen year stint with The Frito Lay Corporation where he was recognized as new employee of the year in his first year with them. He and Betty retired to Prescott Valley, Arizona in 2016 after Michael’s retirement from Frito Lay.
Michael will be remembered fondly as someone who was kind and loved to laugh. He always saw the glass as three quarters full; a gentle soul who will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
