Michael Joseph Terrio of Somerville passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. He is 67 years of age.
Born on July 10, 1954 in Cambridge, Michael is the loving son of the late Ralph Terrio and Eileen (O'Brien) Terrio. Michael is a kind, warm and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed.
Michael was a tremendous family man who loved his ex-wife, Patti, his children and his brother and sisters dearly. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Muncle" to his nieces & nephews and never missed an opportunity to tease them playfully. He was Big Mike to all the kids in the neighborhood and those he encountered during his Babe Ruth years. He absolutely adored his grandchildren and would stop at nothing to keep them happy and smiling. They were his greatest source of joy.
Michael's passion for all Boston sports teams was as unparalleled as his love for his community. He was a major contributor to Somerville politics and youth sports throughout the years. Big Mike was Somerville through and through and his heart remained in the Ville no matter how far he roamed. Somerville is a better place for having him as a lifelong resident.
He had a special love for the beach, whether it be local or in Florida, especially during a good storm. The ocean was his place of peace and where he would go to feel grounded.
Although he will be dearly missed, we rest easy knowing that Dad is resting peacefully with those he loved who went before him.
Michael is the devoted father of April M. Terrio and Michael G. Terrio and his wife Samantha. He is the cherished grandfather of Gavin Terrio, Sophia Terrio, Grayson Manning and Stella Terrio. The dear brother of Thomas Terrio and his wife Tree, Mary Carr, the late Nanci Jordan and her surviving husband James and the late Kathy Stacy and her surviving husband Ken, Michael is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
