Miriam C. (Lucey) Martin

Mrs. Miriam C. (Lucey) Martin, of Burlington, formerly of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 19th 2023. She was 91 years of age.

Miriam was born in Cambridge on September 4, 1931 a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Bertha (McKenny) Lucey. Raised and educated in Cambridge she attended Cambridge High and Latin. She married Lawrence T. Martin on September 9, 1951 in Saint Mary’s Church. Residents of Cambridge, Malden and over twenty-four years in Stoneham before moving to Burlington in 2019.

For many years Miriam provided daycare in her home. She was involved in the foster care system, fostering numerous children. Before retiring Miriam worked as a para professional in the Malden School System.

Her hobbies include camping, singing with the Belaires at the Belmont Senior Center and attending shows when Larry sang with the Singing Grandpops of Arlington.

In addition to her husband of 71 years, Larry, she leaves her children, Joan M. Fitzpatrick and her husband Edward, Francis ‘Frank’ Martin, Edward L. Martin and his wife Judith, Kevin M. Martin and his wife Lynn and Jessica M. Martin and her partner Joseph Ferro. She is the loving grandmother of Erin Genova and her husband Eric, Kate Seaboyer and her husband Chris, Jeffrey Martin, Kristin Calzon, Peter Martin, Kristina Gilberg and her husband Michael, Lauren Martin, Kenneth Martin, and  Camdyn Ferro. Great-grandmother of Violet, Cooper, Ava, Autumn, Madelyn, Blake, Michael and Charles. Dear sister of the late Jeremiah and Donald Lucey and Mary Tokarz. She is also survived by nieces & nephews. 

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family on Wednesday January 25, 2023 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 8 am to 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Miriam's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
