Mollie Allison (Morrell) Preston
Mollie (Morrell) Preston was a caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She left this world suddenly on March 25, 2024 at age 45. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her warmth, love, and generosity.
Mollie was born to Catherine "Kitty" Morrell and the late Richard Morrell on June 11, 1978. After graduating Stoneham High School in1996, Mollie attended Essex Agriculture and received her degrees in culinary arts and nutrition. She met her husband, Mike during this time and together, they had two children: Matthew and John and their happy dog Sadie.
Not only was Mollie a lifelong resident of Stoneham, she had a huge presence in the town. Mollie was on the board for Stoneham Youth Football and a team MOM. She always worked a booth at town day, was a lunch lady at Stoneham Middle school for 8 years and was told by all the kiddos she made the best french fries and chicken nuggets. She was the Operations Manager and Swim Instructor at the British Swim School within LA Fitness. The joy and happiness that all these kids brought to Mollie was a true joy of her life, besides cheering Matthew on at all his hockey and baseball games and John all the football games.
Mollie loved spending the summer at the beach, especially Short Sands at York Beach or searching for sand dollars at
Wingaersheek Beach.
Mollie leaves her husband of 22 years, Michael Preston and her amazing sons Matthew and John Preston. She was the daughter of Catherine "Kitty" Morrell and the late Richard Morrell. The sister of brother Richard (Ricky) and wife Briana Morrell of (Tucson, AZ) and Meredith and husband Chris French (Alexandria, VA) and the loving Auntie of Max and Lucy Morrell and Carter and Brooks French. Adopted grandfather Gene Ferullo. She is Preceded by her father, Richard Morrell and grandparents and adopted grandmother Ida Ferullo.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Mollie's Family on Thursday, March 28th from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM and again on Friday at 10am before processing to Lindenwood Cemetery, Montvale Avenue Stoneham for a Graveside Service at 11am. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
