Msgr. Russel J. Collins

Reverend Msgr. Russell J. Collins, of Boston, formerly of Reading, passed away on Sunday June 3, 2007 at Regina Cleri in Boston, He way 95 years old.





Born in Minnesota, Msgr. Collins was a resident of Reading for many years. Msgr. Collins was well known in the town of Reading, having been Pastor of St. Athanasius Church for 19 years. Upon his retirement Msgr. Collins frequently visited his "family" in Reading throughout each year.





Msgr. Collins was a very special man and priest. He touched many lives in Reading and all of the communities that he was involved in. He was a loving son, brother, priest, and friend. He will be missed by all those who knew him.





Msgr. Collins was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Griffin) Collins. Dear brother of the late Wilfred Hewitt.





Msgr. Collins will Lie in State at Regina Cleri 60 William Cardinal O'Connell Way, Boston on Tuesday 4-7pm and in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading on Wednesday 4-8pm.





Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass Celebrating Msgr.Collins's life in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. READING on Thursday at 11am. Interment Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
