Nancy Coletta, 84, of Lynnfield and Stoneham, Massachusetts died peacefully watching the birds through the window, surrounded by her family, and dog, Emily, on Halloween after a short illness. She died at the home that she and husband Anthony (decd. 2016) built and designed together.
Nancy and Tony were married in 1957 and spent a beautiful 57 years together. Since Tony's passing, Nancy had missed Tony greatly, but carried on with her family and lived independently managing her household and real estate interests.
Since grade school, Nancy carried a passion of tracking her Scottish and English predecessors back to the Mayflower. Her children will remember her cooking during their younger years. They loved her sweet and sour chicken, Italian meatballs, baked cakes, lemon squares, cherry pies, jelly donuts and homemade pizzas.
As the kids grew, she worked as an executive secretary at John Hancock and American Mutual. Nancy also started a successful business making yarn crafts that were sold across the country and internationally. She loved her home, home repairs, landscaping, gardening and her Border Terrier dogs.
In her later years, Nancy and Tony spent their time crossing the country in their motor home making trips to their favorite spots, including Fort Wilderness at Disney World.
Nancy leaves behind her 4 loving children; Robert, Richard, Jane and Steven a nephew Douglas and their families, including 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Nancy's Family on Tuesday, November 9th from 3-7pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator area available.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Nancy's Life will be held on Wednesday, November 10th at 11am in the First Congregational Church, 1 Church Street Stoneham. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
