Nancy J. (Gard) O'Soro

Nancy Joyce (Gard) O'Soro, age 70, beloved wife of 48 years to Charles "Bud" O'Soro, passed away on Wednesday, May 23rd at Winchester Hospital, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Born in Medford, she is the loving daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia (Overlan) Gard.

Nancy was a lifelong resident of Reading and a graduate of Reading High School. She attended and graduated from Fisher Junior College. Nancy was a teacher's aide for children with special needs at the J.W. Killam Elementary School in Reading for many years. She loved spending summers on Newfound Lake. Nancy's greatest joy came from being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Nancy will truly be missed.

Nancy is the devoted Mother of Lisa Lawton and her husband Steve, Mike O'Soro and his wife Jessica and Jennifer Afarian and her husband Greg. Cherished grandmother of Ainsley Lawton, and Cameron and Austin Afarian. Loving Sister of Carol Shiner and her husband Jim, the late Robert Gard and his wife Helen, and lifelong friend of Nancy Scott.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with her family at the Doherty-Barile Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING, on Monday, May 28th from 4-8pm.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Nancy's Eternal Life will be held at St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading on Tuesday, May 29th at 10:30am. Interment will be in Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
