Nicholas Tsakmakis, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 2, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home. He was 54 years of age.
Born on December 1, 1967 in Munich Germany, Nicholas is the son of Basilia (Manzaras) Tsakmakis and the late Stavros Tsakmakis. Niko moved to Stoneham, MA in pursuit of his passion for the food industry. Eighteen years ago Niko opened his treasured DeliWorks and Pizzeria where he passionately provided everyone that walked through the doors with a bright smile and a taste of deliciousness. Niko recently retired from DeliWorks to spend time with his beloved wife, Angela [nee Stefanidakis] Tskamakis, the light of his life and for whom he loved more than anything.
In addition to Niko’s love for all things culinary, Niko had so many incredible personal interests, including his love for watching and playing soccer. Niko loved his soccer team, The Spartans, and the friendships and comradery that came along with his time on the field with his teammates. Niko's interests spanned to music, where he was known to have 80’s freestyle ready on que anywhere he went, jamming to the beats with a twinkle in his eye.
Beyond providing so many friends and customers with great meals at DeliWorks, Niko was a lover of food, laughter, his family, friends, and his three cherished dogs Monty, Tilly, and Zoe. Niko had a special gift of drawing in those around him to his infectious and ebullient personality. Selflessness and generosity were two traits that highlighted his special personality which helped him to touch the lives of so many people in such a short amount of time. Niko’s sense of humor was second to none, he was as compassionate as he was funny. Niko was so special. He represented everything good that we all need throughout our lives.
Niko is survived by his loving partner, wife, and best friend, Angela Tskamakis, his mother Basilia Tskamakis, his brothers, Christos and James Tsakmakis, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Maria Montgomery and his niece Thea and nephew Sammy as well as many cousins, uncles, and the countless friends. He is the son in law of Simeon and Dora Stefanidakis.
