Nina (Chiarello) Pensavalli, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Monday June 8, 2026 at her home with her family by her side after a battle with cancer.
Nina was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Domenic Pensavalli. Cherished mother of Domenic Pensavalli and his wife Carolyn of North Andover, Michael Pensavalli and his wife Peggie of Stoneham and Darren Pensavalli of Reading. Devoted grandmother of Sydney and Christopher. Daughter of the late Michelina (Pescione) and Frank Chiarello. Sister of Ann Doherty and her late fiancé Jim Chalke of Reading and Dianne Caso and her husband William of Lynnfield. Nina was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Nina was born in Everett, MA in 1943. She was a proud graduate of Everett High School, and developed life-long friendships from Everett. She and her husband Domenic moved to Reading, MA in 1971 and went on to spend 55+ years building a home and life together raising their three sons. Nina spent most of her career as a travel agent, and loved sending her clients on vacations all around the world.
When she wasn't at the travel agency, Nina could be found caring for her two grandchildren, at the library, eating lunch with her Club, watching Friends, spending time with her sons, or watching her nieces and nephews' activities. Nina's love language was through food, and she loved cooking for anybody and everybody. While her menu was limited, no one could make a meatball or chicken cutlet better than Nina could. You could never leave Nina's house hungry. As a travel agent, Nina also loved traveling herself, whether it was to Ogunquit, Disney, Aruba, Italy and even exploring the Azores last year.
At her heart, Nina was a true family woman. She loved the chaos that came with a large Italian family and was found in the center of every conversation. Nina and her two twin sisters were referred as the "Velcro Sisters", as they were rarely found not each others side. Nina would go above and beyond to do anything for those she loved.
Nina will be remembered by her laugh, her generosity, overwhelming love for her family, and her chicken cutlets.
