Olga P. " Pat" (Soter) Athanas of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 82 years of age.
Born in Worcester, Pat was the loving daughter of the late Achille Soter and Priscilla (George) Soter. Pat was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed.
Pat worked at the Robin Hood School in Stoneham, where she had formed pleasant relationships with the children and teachers. She was a loving woman who liked to dance, laugh and have fun. Pat was an avid shopper. She was very artistic. Pat enjoyed reading and walking. She had a wide circle of friends, both here and especially in Florida. Pat taught students how to speak Albanian at St. Mary Assumption Albanian Church. Her passion was for her family. She absolutely loved her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending holidays with her children and grandchildren.
Pat was the beloved wife for 48 years of Melvin Athanas. She was the devoted mother of Lorrie Pagluica and her husband Jess of Dracut, Van Athanas and his wife Linda of Kingston, Rhode Island, Arthur Athanas and his wife Debbie of Beverly. Pat was the cherished grandmother of Jess Jr., Alex, Vangel, Adrienne, Vanessa, Aaron and Grace. She was the dear sister of Louise Farrah of Connecticut, Pauline Vasil of Worcester, Flora Lazar of West Roxbury and the late Theodora George and Bessie Tulga. Pat was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and close friends, especially John Weston.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Saturday at 9:45am followed by a Funeral Service in St. George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral, 523 E. Broadway, S. Boston at 11:00am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Friday 3-7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
