Oswaldo D. Sotomayor

Oswaldo D. Sotomayor of Stoneham, formerly of Caracas, Venezuela passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Winchester Hospital. He was 104 years of age.

Born on February 17, 1916 in Catarama, Ecuador, Oswaldo was the loving son of the late Jose Maria Sotomayor and Juana (Villegas) Sotomayor. Oswaldo was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Oswaldo was the beloved husband of Blanca Sofia Duarte de Sotomayor. He was the devoted father of Helen Sotomayor Vasquez and her husband Edward, Blanca Stella Sotomayor and Nora Susana Sotomayor. The cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Suzanne, Katherine, Eddie Esperanza, Andres and Sara, Oswaldo was the doting great grandfather of Jonathan and his wife Kimberly, Naveed, Danyal, Noah and Jordan. He was the dear brother of Marieta Pappe and her husband Carlos and the late Ulises, Efrain, Isabel, Marta and Horacio Sotomayor. Oswaldo is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM, Friday, March 6th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Oswaldo's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Oswaldo's Family on Thursday, March 5th from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
