Patricia (Nevin) Barrett, beloved wife of Charles R. "Dick" Barrett, passed away on Thursday, October 6th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 77.  Born in Malden, she is the loving daughter of the late John J. and Delia (Sheridan) Nevin.

Patricia grew up in Melrose and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School.  She married the love of her life, Dick in June of 1969.  They settled in North Reading to raise their family.  Devoted to her faith, Patricia was an active parishioner at St. Theresa's Church in North Reading, where she also worked as the house keeper for over 25 years.

A talented artist, as a young girl, Patricia was award first prize in a region-wide Celtic Art Design contest that was sponsored by Filene's Department Store in Boston.  She was always creative.  Many people are lucky to wear sweaters, hats and blankets, all knitted by Pat. Pat took great pride in her home. She loved her work and felt deeply connected to St. Theresa's parish and the people there. She enjoyed kayaking and canoeing trips with her grandchildren.  Pat also took memorable trips to see relatives in Alaska and Ireland. Pat's greatest joy came from being with her family.  Mimi was a doting grandmother, devoted mother and caring and loving wife and friend.  She will be greatly missed by her cherished grandchildren and family.

In addition to being the loving wife of 53 years to Dick, she is the devoted mother of Sean Barrett of Tampa, FL, Jennifer Jablonski and her husband Brian of MacFarland, WI and Denise Talty and her husband Matt of Methuen, MA.  Cherished grandmother of Mallory, Madeline and Luke Jablonski, John and Meghan Talty and Serenity and Angel Bartlett.  Loving sister of Sheila Nevin, John Nevin and his wife Colleen and the late Maureen Nevin.  Pat also leaves many nieces, nephews, in laws, extended family and her faithful dog companion Harley.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Located on the corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Monday, October 10th, 2022 from 2 to 6pm.

Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022 at 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Patricia at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt. 62) North Reading at 10:30am.

Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tewksbury.
