Patricia Ann Coates

April 7, 1936 — January 9, 2013

Patricia Ann (Oates) Coates of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, passed away, January 9, 2013, at home surrounded by her family.



Born in Brookline, she was the loving daughter of the late Thomas F. Oates Sr., and Mary (Folan) Oates. Patricia was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.



Patricia graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing becoming an RN and working in several institutions most recently as the Director of Health Services at Emerson College. While working and raising a family she found time to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree from Roger Williams University.



Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Paul Coates, Sr. She was the devoted mother of Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Robert, Catherine Miko and her husband Thomas, Paul Coates, Jr. and his wife Colleen West Coates, Roy Coates and his wife Marianne, Thomas Coates and his wife Christine, Michael Coates and his wife Maria Amato Coates and the late Mary Patsos. Patricia is survived by her son in law David Patsos. She was the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Marcus and Victoria Taylor, Zachary, Casey and Jacob Miko, Katherine Norley-Cunha, Ford, Devin, Camden and McKenna Coates, Daniel and Caroline Coates, Michael and Julianne Coates and James Coates. Patricia was the loving great grandmother of Zander Cunha. She was the dear sister of Sister Mary Oates, CSJ, Eileen Latimer, Reverend Thomas Oates, Dorothy Doyle and Claire Oates. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Patricia is survived by close family friends Dan and Linda Walsh and kids.



Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Patricia's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Sunday 2-6pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Interment Oak Grove, Medford.
