Patricia A. (Pepin) McAuley, a loving mother of eleven and a former secretary, died after a long battle with colon cancer on the first day of May 2008, a beautiful spring day. Her eleven children and her daughter-in law were present.
Mrs. McAuley was a dedicated mother whose entire life was committed to her family and friends. Despite any adversity Patricia experienced, her positive outlook on life would find a way to bring a smile to her face that quickly transmitted to any and all who were nearby. She was a complete joy and pleasure for all who knew her. In addition to being a secretary at American Mutual for a number of years, Mrs. McAuley was an avid bowler, playing on a league for many years. She was also active at the Reading Senior Center participating in aerobics, a favorite activity and as a member of a book club. Other favorite hobbies included sewing, knitting, puzzle making, and fabulous baking. Patricia's self-taught computer skills helped her when she volunteered for NAMI, when she developed personal greeting cards, and as she enjoyed exchanging emails with her loving family and friends. Never one to slow down, Patricia enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and wherever she found herself Patricia rooted for her beloved Boston Sports Teams.
