Patricia A. (McLaughlin) Walles

Patricia A. (McLaughlin) Walles, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, formerly of Stoneham, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 12, 2023. She was 86 years of age.

Pat was the daughter of Michael Henry McLaughlin and Catherine Florence (Crosby) McLaughlin.  She was born in Charlestown, MA, and had wonderful memories of growing up a "townie" and making many lifelong friends. She was an accomplished athlete, competing as a swimmer and on the softball field. She attended the Julie Billiart High School in Boston's North End and graduated from Charlestown High, where she met her husband, Bob.

Pat was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She always encouraged her children to pursue their interests in school, sports and hobbies, and volunteered her time as a classroom mother, library mother, den mother, CCD teacher, hockey mom and enthusiastic fan at school concerts, plays and games. She was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the Bruins, Patriots and Celtics. 

Pat was a bookkeeper, initially for her family business, and later for several private companies where she worked for many years. She was an active member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Wakefield, MA.  Pat also volunteered her time supporting Helping Our Troops "HOT", a wonderful group who provide care packages to military personnel stationed overseas.  Her many volunteer activities reflect Pat's strong commitment to her family, her faith and her country.           

Patricia is the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Walles. She is the devoted mother of Mary Judith McGrath and her husband David, Scott R. Walles and his late wife Jeanette, and the late Robert M. Walles and his surviving wife Donna and the late Steve H. Walles. Beloved aunt of Michael H. Hartnett and his wife Ann Cavallo - Hartnett. Loving grandmother of Bobbie E. Walles II and their wife Tallie Medel, Kristina M. Walles - Tenhave and her husband Luke, Joseph McLaughlin Walles, Tracy D. McGrath and Sean T. McGrath. She is the proud great grandmother of Olivia Florence Tenhave.  Dear sister of the late Mary Louise Hartnett and her late husband Edward "Mickey" Hartnett. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Tuesday July 18th, 2023, at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Patricia's Eternal Life in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 am.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family on Monday July 17th, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
