Paul Ciampa of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 82 years of age.
Born on November 24, 1936 in Sulmona, AQ, Italy, Paul is the loving son of the late Giovanni Ciampa and Angiolina (Valeri) Ciampa. Paul is a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Paul is the beloved husband of Giuseppina (DeVincentis) Ciampa. He is the devoted father of Armando and his wife Annalia, Angela and Paola. Paul is the cherished grandfather of Ruben, Brenda, Paolo and Alissia. He is the dear brother of Pasquale Ciampa and his wife Elena, the late Mario Ciampa and his surviving wife Lucille, and the late Armando Ciampa. Paul is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
With so much energy and desire to fulfill his dreams, Paul immigrated to the U.S.A. when he was only fourteen years old. America gave him the opportunity to open several businesses: the first Italian espresso bar, Caffè dello Sport, in the North End; Pino's Pizza, in Brookline; and Tastee Tower, in Hampton Beach. After many years, the love for his Italian mountains and the mild climate drew Paul back to his native Abruzzo; however, he was always happy to fly back to the States to visit family and friends. Very positive and wise, always a step ahead of the game, Paul loved being outdoors, playing and listening to music, and sharing good laughs and great Italian food. We are so lucky and blessed to have been part of his wonderful journey. We will always carry his love in our hearts.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family on Saturday, June 29 from 2-6 pm. in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
