Paul A. Franklin

March 29, 1915 — May 2, 2007

Paul A. Franklin, of Rockport, formerly of Reading, passed away on Wednesday May 2, 2007 in Gloucester. He was 92 years old.





Born in Bellwood, IL, Paul was a resident of Reading for many years. He was very active within the Reading community being a Town Meeting Member,

participating in Reading Little League and also being a Scout Master.





Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Reading and Plymouth, a member of the Wakefield Elks, the Quanapowitt Players and the Colonial Chorus.





Paul worked diligently with the Gillette Company in South Boston and Andover prior to his retirement.





Paul was the beloved wife for 64 years of the late Helen (Ross) Franklin. He was the devoted father of Barbara A. Stanganelli and her husband Joseph of W. Peabody, Paul A. Franklin Jr. and his wife Rita of TX, Walter R. Franklin and his wife Claire of Rockport. Paul was also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Reginald Franklin of Cambridge, and the late Colonel Arthur C. Franklin, Clarence Franklin and Frances E. Cole.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St.

READING Monday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Paul's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am.





Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Sunday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located on Linden St.





Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
