Paul J. McCarthy

Paul J. McCarthy, of Reading, passed away on Saturday March 21st, 2026 at home with his family by his side. He was 87 years of age.

A lifelong member of the Massachusetts Golf Association and the Colonial Chorus of Reading. He belonged to the Barbershop Singers for many years, and he was the proud owner and chief operator of the Wells Machine Shop of Woburn, Massachusetts. 

Paul is the beloved husband of Lorraine (Stellato) McCarthy. He is the cherished father of Brian McCarthy and the late Linda Avron. He is the loving grandfather of Justin Bellofatto and Chelsea Henggeler and her husband Robert. Dear brother of Janet McCarthy and her husband Jim Meyers, Edmund McCarthy and his wife Maryanne, Christine Matayabas and the late Philip McCarthy. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.  

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with his family on Friday March 27th, 2026 in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING from 4 pm to 6 pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Paul's Eternal Life at 6 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
