Paul M. O'Neil

Paul O’Neil of Dracut died on Saturday, March 28 at Lowell General Hospital. He was 65.

Raised in Stoneham, Mr. O’Neil previously lived in Woburn. He attended St. Patrick School in Stoneham, Stoneham public schools, and graduated from UMass Boston with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Mr. O’Neil was a voracious reader of fiction, including westerns, science fiction, fantasy, and comic books. He thoroughly enjoyed playing poker with his brothers and friends for nearly 40 years. An avid sports fan, he rooted for all Boston teams but was most fond of the Bruins and Red Sox. Like his father 20 years earlier, he passed away shortly after the Red Sox season opener, having made it to another season.

Mr. O’Neil is survived by two children, Corey and his fiancée Jessica, of Woburn, and Erin and her fiancé Hayden, of Woodbridge, VA; three brothers, Mark and his wife Maria, of Dunstable, John and his wife Debbie, of Tewksbury, and Stephen and his wife Lala, of Wellesley; one sister, Jane and her husband Matt, of Wakefield; and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Francis O’Neil and the late Barbara (Coleman) O’Neil.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Paul's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with his family on Friday, April 10 from 4 pm-7 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
