Paul P. Canavan

Paul P. Canavan, age 85, of Stoneham passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, in Marshfield, MA.

Beloved husband for 54 years of the late Mary (Hamill) Canavan. Devoted father of Linda A Canavan of Humarock, Lori A Cook and her husband Jason of Hanson, the late Paul W Canavan, Leanne Woods and her husband Brian of Marshfield, Jeffrey H. Canavan and his wife Janeen of Naples, ME, and Lisa M. MacMillan and her husband John of Derry, NH. Loving grandfather of the late Steven “Zac” Woods, Brianna Woods, Katelyn Murphy, Melissa Canavan, and Kevin Canavan. Dedicated great grandfather of Leila Woods. Dear brother of William Canavan, Robert Canavan and the late Mary and Donald Canavan. Paul is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Paul was born June 6, 1938, in Malden, MA to the late William and Dorothy (Geary) Canavan. Raised and educated in Stoneham, MA, Paul was a graduate of Stoneham High School class of 1957. He loved aviation, a passion he shared with his brothers. He acquired his private pilot’s license, and proudly served in the US Air Force Reserves. Paul was the proud owner and operator of SE Churchill, a specialty auto repair shop located in Everett, MA. Paul was a master of his trade, and his knowledge and skill was sought from far and wide. His dedication to his business and work ethic led to him being a teacher to all that worked for him. As a young man building a business while also growing a family, he somehow exceeded in both aspects of his life.

After retirement, Paul enjoyed traveling with his wife Mary and his children. He loved hosting family and friends at his house in Naples, ME, and bringing his grandchildren and great grandchild fishing, tubing or out for ice cream along Long Lake.
