Paula Janice Oliver of Reading, MA, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on April 1, 1964, in Somerville to John F. and Jean Mary (MacDonald) DiPerna. Paula grew up in a close-knit family and was the beloved sister of Albert J. DiPerna (and his wife Maureen of Middleton, MA), John F. DiPerna II (and his late wife Janice of Winchester, MA), Jeanne Johanson (and her husband Eric of Medford, MA), and Kathy Kelly (and her husband Steve of Medford, MA).

Paula attended the Somerville school system and later Middlesex Community College. After beginning her career in insurance, she went on to dedicate her professional life to Charles River Eye Associates, where she served as office manager for two decades.

While working in Somerville in 1982, Paula met her future husband, John P. Oliver of Leominster, who was also working in Somerville at the time. The couple married in 1987 at Saint Catherine's Church in Somerville.

In 1989, Paula and John moved to Reading, where they built their life together and raised two sons: John Anthony Oliver (born 1991) and David MacDonald Oliver (born 1998). Both sons graduated from the Reading school system and attended UMass Amherst.

John met his future wife, Lauren Anderson of Mansfield, at UMass. The couple married and now live in Acton, MA, with their beautiful daughter, Elena. Paula was "Nona" to Elena, and loved her granddaughter dearly. David resides in Woburn, MA.

Paula is survived by a big, loving family and many friends who will all miss her dearly, including her husband, father, sons, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, sisters, brothers, in-laws, cousins, many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews. Her memory will live on in them all.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, December 5th, from 4:00 to 7:30 PM, followed by a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Interment will take place at a later date.
