Pauline A. (Doucette) VanSchalkwyk

Pauline Ann (Doucette), formerly of Andover and Reading, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. She was 93 years of age.

During her life she worked at many businesses in the community, later moving on to own her own business, a bookstore. She enjoyed many years as the proprietor (and Reader-in-Chief) at “Annie’s Book Stop”. Pauline was rarely to be found without a book (or two) in her hands. 

Pauline is the beloved wife of the late Richard VanSchalkwyk. She is the cherished mother of Walter van Schalkwijk and his wife Xiaojie, the late John VanSchalkwyk and his wife Pam Wool, Julie Morgulis and her husband Richard, William VanSchalkwyk, and his wife Maureen, Matthew VanSchalkwyk and his wife Cindy, Kurt van Schalkwijk and his wife Lenny, Philip VanSchalkwyk and his wife Laurie.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Chelsea VanSchalkwyk, Noah VanSchalkwyk, Danielle Morgulis and her husband Shawn Rasmussen, Jessica Morgulis and her wife Ailee Johnston, Lindsey Morgulis, Nathaniel Morgulis, Rob VanSchalkwyk, Dan VanSchalkwyk and his wife Julie, Jeremy VanSchalkwyk and his wife Kimberly, Meghan VanSchalkwyk , Ainsley Rousseau, Clay van Schalkwijk, Amanda van Schalkwijk, David van Schalkwijk, Jennifer VanSchalkwyk, Samantha VanSchalkwyk, Andrew VanSchalkwyk.

She was also the devoted great grandmother of five great grandchildren.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents Eli and Mary Doucette, and her brothers Harold, Lawrence, Arthur, Wilbur, and William. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are kindly invited to share memories with her family on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11 AM, in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., Reading, followed by a Funeral Service. Parking attendants and elevator available. Interment will be at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading.
