Peter L. Chauncy

Peter L. Chauncy, of Stoneham, Massachusetts passed peacefully on December 8th 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda Nigro Chauncy, for over 46 years and extremely proud of his two doting daughters, Lauren Chauncy Serrano and Amanda Rose Chauncy. He truly loved his girls with all his heart. In addition, he welcomed his sons-in-law, Chris Serrano and Jake Ledgard, to the Chauncy family with open arms. More recently, he enjoyed spending time being a “Poppy” to his three adorable and lively grandchildren, Chloe Marie and Dylan Anthony Serrano, and Luca Jay Ledgard.

He was predeceased by his parents, Helen Holloway Chauncy and Michael S. Chauncy, and his brother, M. Stevens Chauncy.

A native New Englander, Peter spent much of his life on the North Shore. Peter attended The Fessenden School in Newton and Tabor Academy in Marion. He went on to college at Texas A&M University and completed his bachelor’s degree at Marietta College of Ohio.

If you knew Peter, he loved nothing more than spending time on the ocean aboard his meticulously cared for boat. In his younger years, he enjoyed a variety of water sports including swimming, scuba diving and rowing. As time progressed, he developed a love for rugby and played with the Boston Gentlemen for 6 years. His teammates would recognize him as a “true gentleman” in every sense of the word. He was an avid reader of espionage novels and loved nature and wildlife. A car and power boat enthusiast, he loved a good adventure and had a need for speed.

A genuine salesman and entrepreneur, Peter started his own industrial paper supply business, FEENIX Services and ran it for over 30 years. Upon semi-retirement, Peter and his family enjoyed beach vacations in Naples, Florida, cruising the Caribbean and Hawaii, as well as a few international trips that were quite special.  A hard-worker, lover of life, and family man, Peter will be missed beyond measure.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Peter’s family on Thursday, December 14th from 12-4pm at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) Stoneham.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.
