Peter J. Mcarthur

July 11, 1938 — March 18, 2012

Peter McArthur a 41 year resident of Reading died on March 18, 2012 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 73. He was a native of Lowell and Dracut. He attended St. Michael's School in Lowell and graduated from Lowell Trade School. He also received a diploma from Northeast Institute in Boston for HVAC, Refrigeration and Drafting.



He worked in the Missile Division at Raytheon Mfg., Co. in Lowell for 8 years. He then worked as an HVAC installer and a Sales Estimator for over 30 years. He retired in 2003 as an Electro Polisher at Cotter Corp. in Danvers.



Mr. McArthur was the husband of Cynthia (Deal) McArthur of Reading. The son of the late John and Viola McArthur of Dracut, the brother of the late John F. McArthur of Dracut and the brother of the late Joan Gettings of Lowell. He is also survived by his brother James McArthur of Gilford, NH and his sisters Elaine Keefe of Dracut and Ann Russell of Nashua, NH.



Mr. McArthur was a 22 year member of the Good Samaritan Masonic Lodge in Reading. He was also an officer and chairman of hospital equipment at the Masonic Lodge in North Reading. He was a member for 32 years at the Elks Lodge in Wakefield.

Mr. McArthur enjoyed travelling, collecting coins and building scale models.



He will be missed by all his family and friends.



Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Peter's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
