Phyllis M. (O'Donnell) Eldredge, 86, of Methuen and former lifelong resident of Reading, beloved wife of the late Clarence R. Eldredge, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, with her daughters by her bedside. Born in Melrose, she is the daughter of the late Phillip S. and Mary H. (Hollander) O'Donnell.
Phyllis grew up in Reading and was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School. For many years, she worked as a clerk for Reading Municipal Light. Phyllis enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening, and bird watching. Phyllis was an avid Red Sox fan, parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Reading and most of all, Phyllis was devoted to her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her immense joy and she will be truly missed.
She is the loving mother of the late David Eldredge and his wife MaryLou Eldredge, Stephen Eldredge, Susan Eldredge, Paul Eldredge, Kathy Eldredge and her husband Michael Goodwin. Cherished grandmother of Erin Tieuli, Julie Eldredge, Kendalyn Banks, Douglas Eldredge, the late Nikki Eldredge, Diana Eldredge and great grandmother of four. Beloved sister of the late Joseph O'Donnell, Robert O'Donnell, the late Jean Knight, Maureen MacDonald, the late David O'Donnell and Carol Rockwood. She is the sister-in-law of Virginia Fairfield and the aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING, on Friday October 12th, 2018 at 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Phyllis' Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading at 10:30am.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Phyllis' family Thursday, October 11th, from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants available. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
