Phyllis R. (Roberti) Rosa, 97, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Rosa, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Born in raised in Newark, New Jersey, she is the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Roberti.
Phyllis was a graduate of Keane College and received her degree in Elementary School Education. She began her teaching career in Livingston, New Jersey, where she met her husband Nicholas, the school dentist. They were married for 65 years. Phyllis moved to Reading to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, an excellent cook and talented painter. Phyllis was an active member of St. Theresa's Church in North Reading and a volunteer at local hospitals and community groups. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and "Gigi" to her great grandchildren. Phyllis will truly be missed by her loving family.
She is the loving mother of Nicholas Rosa, Jr. and Kathleen A. Corley and her husband William. Cherished grandmother of Katie Shaw and her husband Andy, Marianne Connelly and her husband Mike, Kevin Corley and his wife Tracy, Christine Corley, Elizabeth Rosa, Jack Rosa and Ellen Rosa. Beloved sister of Anne Saladino and her late husband Vinny and aunt to Linda DeCastro, Ken Laufer and Ken Saladino.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Phyllis' family at the Doherty-Barile Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING on Thursday from 8:30 – 10am. Parking attendants available. Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass Celebrating Phyllis' Eternal Life will be held at St. Theresa's Church, 62 Winter St., North Reading at 10:30am. Interment will be in Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
