Pietro "Peter" Rinaldi

Pietro (Peter) A. Rinaldi 2-7-1944 to 5-6-20201 died unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday. Survived by his wife Beatrice (Passerello) Rinaldi, and his daughter Gina Furey and her husband Peter Furey. Pre-deceased by his son Danny Vincent Rinaldi. Survived by his grandson Danny Peter Furey. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that truly adored him.

Peter was born and raised in Medford and raised in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and was the son of Damiano and Lena Rinaldi. He was the brother of the late Carmen Rinaldi, the late Joseph Rinaldi, the late Mary "Rocca" Byrne, and the late Charles Rinaldi. He graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for 6 years. He also served in the United States Army Reserve. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1971.

Following his service in the military and vocational training as an electrician, Peter worked for several years as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 103 as a Master Electrician.

Peter was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and long walks in the woods with his dogs. He enjoyed food of all types, especially Italian food and seafood of all types. He also enjoyed a nice glass of Scotch or glass of red wine. Later in life, he and his closest neighbors made his annual batch of homemade wine. He also loved a good cigar (was especially fond of Parodi's), or a pinch of Skoal.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Thursday May 13, 2021 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 10 am to 12 pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Peter's Eternal Life at 12. Parking attendants and elevator available. Due to state regulations for Covid-19, a mask is required while in the funeral home as well as social distancing at all times. Interment with Military Honors will be in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
