Ralph L. Rossetti

March 12, 1918 — December 7, 2020

Ralph L. Rossetti of Stoneham passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, December 7, 2020, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was 102 years of age. Ralph is a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Born on March 12, 1918, in Boston, Ralph is the son of the late Louis Rossetti and Angelina (DeMusis) Rossetti. On January 4th, 1942, he married the love of his life Mary and began an "unbelievable" journey that spanned close to 75 years. Ralph and Mary moved to Stoneham, MA, in 1951, where they were very well known. Ralph worked as a dedicated letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years. During World War II, he proudly served our country, defending our freedom in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant for the 842nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion Medical Detachment. Ralph often shared stories of his experiences in the US Army, and at 99 years of age, Ralph was honored so thankfully during an all-day trip to Washington D.C. hosted by Honor Flight New England.

Ralph was an avid gardener who loved feeding the neighborhood, a model boat builder using scrap wood from Home Depot, and he thoroughly took great pride in building and spending time at his summer home on Cape Cod upon his retirement. Ralph also enjoyed traveling with Mary and his family and puttering around his house doing handyman work.

Ralph is the beloved husband of the late Mary J. (Balsamo) Rossetti. The devoted father of Marilyn Jervis and her late husband Robert, and Richard Rossetti and his wife, Teresa. He is the cherished grandfather of Adam Jervis, Christopher Rossetti and his wife Amanda, and Tarryn (David), Nicholas, and Stephen (Christina) Rossetti. Ralph is the doting great grandfather of Harrison James Rossetti. He is the eldest brother of Josephine Defino, Rosie Brooks, James Rossetti, and his wife Lorraine, and was predeceased by his siblings Mary, Michael and John Rossetti, and Eleanor Bonanno. Ralph is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, and caretakers.

At the request of Ralph's family, funeral services will be held privately.

We welcome loved ones who will not be able to attend in person to join us and pay respects via a virtual stream of the services at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/52482470
