Ralph John "Sonny" Gaeta

Ralph John “Sonny” Gaeta of Stoneham, formerly of the North End of Boston passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  He is 92 years of age.

Born on Saturday, May 24, 1930 in Boston, Ralph is the loving son of the late John Gaeta and Louise (Dambrosio) Gaeta.  Ralph is a kind, gentle and warm son, brother, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He will be deeply missed.

Beyond his great sense of humor, a few of his favorite things were playing cards, winters at Fort Myers Beach, Florida, and time with his friends and family. Surprising to all, he ran track at University of Miami, but unsurprisingly loved the race track as well. He was a veteran of the Korean war.

Ralph is the beloved husband of Rosalie (Franzone) Gaeta.  He is the devoted father of Maria Metcalfe & her husband Douglas.  The cherished grandfather of Nicholas Metcalfe & his significant other Rebecca Reuman & Dr. Derek Metcalfe & his wife Teresa, Ralph is the dear brother of the late Annette Alberti, Joan Demarco & Marylou Tavernese.  He is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. 

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Ralph’s Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday, March 29^th at 10am in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham.  Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Ralph’s Family on Wednesday from 8am – 9:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM.  Parking attendants and elevator available.  Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
