Riccardo P. Gentile

Riccardo P. Gentile of Stoneham passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 5, 2024. He is 88 years of age.

Born on Saturday, February 1, 1936 in Naples, Italy, Riccardo is the loving son of the late Giuseppe Gentile and Nicolina (Paone) Gentile. Riccardo is a warm, kind, gentle & loyal son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed.

In 1974 Riccardo opened European Flair Hair Salon in Concord, Massachusetts and spent the next 40 years cutting hair. In 2001 he sold the business to his daughter, hairstylist Carla Schlieff who still owns and operates it today. This year was the 50th anniversary of European Flair and Riccardo’s career legacy.

Riccardo had a love of cinema, music, style, and photography that he passed down to his children and grandchildren who all have careers or interests in the arts. He was an accomplished gardener, spending the spring and summer tending in his vegetable garden, hydrangeas, and maintaining an emerald green lawn. He will be remembered as a wonderful father, a caring grandfather, and an incredible business owner that created an amazing life for himself and his family.

Riccardo is the beloved husband of the late Maria (Savino) Gentile who passed away in 2009. He is the devoted father of Maria Pia Gentile and Carla Schlieff and her husband Karle. The cherished grandfather of Lia Schlieff, Angelica Allain and her husband Justin, Riccardo is the dear brother of the late Maria Gentile and her surviving husband Luigi and Pia Gentile and her husband Natalino. He is also predeceased by his mother and father in law, Maria and Jerry Savino. Riccardo is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited gather and share memories with Riccardo’s Family on Sunday, October 20th from 2pm to 3pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. A Funeral Service Celebrating Riccardo’s Eternal Life will be held at 3pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
