Herlihy, Richard F. – of North Reading, Jan. 19th. Beloved husband of Sandra (Stanley). Father of Melissa Bellavance and her husband William of North Reading, Michael Herlihy of North Reading, Matthew and his wife Samantha of Dracut and Mark Herlihy and his wife Jennifer of Woburn. Brother of Diane Rayla and her husband Philip of Harvard; Ronnie Cavanaugh and her husband James of CA; Janet Smith and her husband Arthur of FL; Carol Herlihy of Rowley, Susanne Meuse of CA and Linda Laliberte and husband Steven, also of CA. Grandfather of Evan, Tyler, Aiden, Makayla and Andrew. Richard is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Richard enjoyed summers in Harrison, ME sitting by the campfire telling stories to his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews especially after kid's night out. He was always willing to offer rides for his sisters to work and helped each of them move when needed. Richard enjoyed taking train rides during school vacations with his kids when they were young and continued the tradition with his grandkids. He was a Cub Master for troop 726 and assistant Cub Master for troop 706 in Reading and coached every team his kids played for.  Richard would always say "By the way did you know I worked at Polaroid"? He loved working there and stayed until the company closed. All that knew Richard, especially his family will miss him deeply.
