Richard K. Nolan of Bourne passed away peacefully in Woburn on September 28, 2021. He was 84 years of age.
Born on February 23, 1937 in Everett, Richard was the loving son of the late Clifford Nolan and Catherine Mary (Parrott) Nolan. Richard was a warm, kind and caring son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
Richard was generous man who spent most of his time bringing laughter and joy to his family and friends. Richard had a passion for golf, fishing, and traveling, all shared with his family and friends. With his bright and charismatic personality, he could always make you smile, being by his dance moves, singing, or his countless jokes. He touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life.
A proud veteran, Richard valiantly served his country and defended our freedom as a paratrooper in the United States Army. Following his service, he attended and graduated from Bentley College as an accountant and proceeded to become a CPA. Richard leaves behind four grandchildren and a great grandchild, who he was blessed with to carry on his wonderful memories.
Richard is the beloved father of Holly (Nolan) Baczek, her husband Steven, and of Lori O'Riely. He is the cherished grandfather of Nicole Mickelson and her husband Eric Mickelson, SSG US Army, Alexandra Baczek, Steven Baczek and Richard Nolan, III and an adoring great grandfather of Austin Tyler Mickelson. Richard is the dear brother of Lawrence Nolan, Maureen Meade, Kathleen Kelly, Sandra Christie and the late John Nolan, Imelda Priestly, Thelma Hardwood, Mary Claire Smith and Theresa Adriansen. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Richard's family on Thursday, October 7th from 5-7pm with a funeral service celebrating Richard's life at 6:30pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street, READING. Parking attendants and elevator available.
