Richard E. Strandberg of Reading passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2005 at Massachusetts General Hospital after complications from a brain aneurysm. He was 50 years of age.





Born in Winchester, Richard was a lifelong resident of Reading. Richard was a former member of the Reading Knights of Columbus and the Reading American Legion. Richard was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing and watching all sports.





Richard was loved for his sharp wit, terrific sense of humor and generous hears. He never met a person or an animal he didn't like. He will be missed by all.





Richard was the warm and loving father of Richard T. Strandberg of Vermont and the late Ryan Strandberg. He was the dear brother of Joan Ripa and her husband Billy, Robert Strandberg and his wife Judy, Thomas Strandberg and his fiance Debbie Frotten, all of Reading. Richard was the cherished son of Mildred (Collicchio) Strandberg and the late Tere Strandberg and the devoted uncle of Tina Ohlson and her husband George, Jill Dinan, Adam, Rachael, Matthew, Cheri and Jennifer Strandberg. He was the former husband of Karen (Foss).





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Richard's life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Tuesday 3-7pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
