Richard A. Wall

June 14, 1946 — October 4, 2008

Richard A. Wall of Reading, on October 4, 2008. He was the devoted husband to Joan (McKinley) and the loving father of three children, Caitlin of New York, NY; Christopher of Jamaica Plain, MA and Meaghan of Reading, MA and Burlington, VT. He also leaves five brothers, Francis of Casco, ME; Robert, his twin, of Plymouth, MA, David of York, ME, Kevin of Amesbury, MA and Brian of Ashfield, MA. He was the son of Francis and A. Rita (deceased). Richard was also an uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nephews.



A graduate of Suffolk University, cum laude and New England School of Law with admission to the Massachusetts Bar in 1977; Federal District Court (District of Massachusetts) in 1979 and the U.S. Court of Appeals (First Circuit) in 1982. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association; The Workers' Compensation Trial Bar of Massachusetts and the DIA Health Care Services Board Advisory Subgroup. Mr. Wall was a speaker and contributor to MBA, MCLE, MATA, PESI, NBI, ATLA, LIS and various other groups concerning Massachusetts Workers' Compensation Reform Legislation. He was a member of the DIA Rules Committee from its inception in 1986 and a member of the DIA Committee in indexing the Reviewing Board Decisions since 1999. He was a senior partner at Wall, Wall & Gruenberg, LLC and a founding member and officer of Legal Information Systems.



Mr. Wall is also the author and co-author of several publications concerning Workers' Compensation Reform Legislation including the Massachusetts Workers Compensation Reform Act (1990) and Supplementing Workmens' Compensation, Volume 29, Massachusetts Practice Series (1995) and the 2002 Massachusetts Practice Series Volume 29.



Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street, READING. Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Lot on Linden St. A Memorial Service celebrating Richard's life will be held on Saturday at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 95 Woburn Street, Reading at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please honor Richard with donations to the Sawtelle Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
