Rita J. (Tower) Muise, of Reading, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 17th, 2023. She was 88 years of age.
Born in Winchester, Rita is the daughter of the late Graham and Lena (Guinan) Tower.
Rita grew up in Reading. She did waitressing at the Reading Diner, where she eventually met her husband Gordon. They married on June 30th, 1956 and had five children. She worked at Walmart for over 20 years as a cashier where she had many customers that would only go to her line. She loved crocheting, going camping, doing puzzles, reading, playing cards with anyone that would play. She loved to travel when she could, especially to Nova Scotia, Florida and South Carolina to visit family. Rita was a die hard Red Sox fan, never missing a game. If she couldn't watch the game, she taped it and watched it in its entirety and knew every player. Her grandchildren would love watching the Red Sox with her as she would scream at the television like the player was in the room with her and could hear her. Anyone that met Rita, fell in love with her kindness and generosity.
Rita is the beloved wife of the late Gordon L. Muise. She is the cherished mother of Michele Hollis and her husband Dave, Celeste O'Neill and her husband Jimmy, Graham Muise, Debbie Zickefoose and her husband Don, Janet Mills and her late husband Greg and Rosanne Marquis and her husband Steve.
