Rita Buckley (D'Amico) Robinson, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 29, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Medford, MA on June 27, 1937 to Robert Joseph and Emma Josephine (Murphy) Buckley.
Rita spent more than thirty years teaching Third Grade in Arlington Public Schools (Brackett and Parmenter) and co-owned The Sea Grape Tree Restaurant in Arlington in the early 1990s.
Rita is predeceased by her parents and sister, Nancy Lloyd of Medford, MA. She is survived by her three children James (Julie), Jeanne, and Theodore (Yvette) D'Amico; her grandchildren Rita Khalid (Joey), Bruno D'Amico, Gina Noonan (Kyle), Matthew Cesvette (Tamorra), Elliot (Paige) and Emma (Peter) White, Sebastian and Alexandra D'Amico; great-grandchildren Capri and Cash Cesvette; her sister Patricia (Bruce) Gotwols of Silver Spring, MD; cousins Julie Ann Skinner Small of Waltham, MA and Jan Skinner Garneau of Sarasota, FL; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a dear friend to Anne Calcaterra of Arlington, MA, Julie McDaniel of Arlington, MA, Mary Maresca of Brookline, MA, Maureen Herrick of Haverhill, MA, and many others.
A visitation will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 at the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM from 11am – 1pm.
Private burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Rita's memory to either Rotaplast International – Wrap a Smile (rotaplast.org), Dana Farber Cancer Institute, or the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA.
Rita was an avid reader, talented quilter ("Mrs. Quilty"), painter, writer, mother, beloved "Nonnie", and friend. She will be greatly missed.
